BioI am a man who has been fortunate enough to find where I was meant to be. I felt drawn to where I live and met the woman who would become my wife and mother of my children 10 days later. We have been together since 1996, married since 1999, and have two wonderful children together and I am a stay at home father raising them.
Other than that, I grew up in the LA area, although I was born in Louisiana and spent most of my summers there with my grandparents. The single biggest formative moment in my life was a negative one, the loss of my father when I was 12, whom I adored. My mother became more and more unstable, which we would later discover was due to undiagnosed bipolar disorder.
Although this caused me a great deal of problems, my friends helped me to keep sane, even when I couldn't admit how bad off I was. Eventually, when my grandmother on my father's side passed, I finally really talked with my grandfather and realized that pressure he had placed on me to finish my schooling was not an ego thing, but a desire to help me get away from my mentally ill mom, who I had been keeping propped up.
And that gave me the final impetus I needed to finish my general ed classes and transfer to UCSC, where I would meet my the aforementioned future wife. Although I would screw up and get kicked out, that would prove to be the final part of my maturing process that allowed me to be what I needed to be.
So, now I've decided to speak my peace, and if it means anything to anyone else, then all for the better.
